Promote your brand using stories

Workshops to engage people with your story

These two sharp and insightful new one day workshops are aimed at communicators and marketers within NFP and Government organisations.

Stories are powerful communication vehicles. Stories can win hearts, change minds and strengthen connections in teams and organisations. Learn:

  • where to find them
  • how to tell them
  • how to use them

We recommend delegates attend both workshops as a pair, though they can be booked individually.

Typically, the people we need to attract to our organisations as partners, donors, staff or funders, ask themselves many questions before they commit to joining, or to continue supporting us. They want to believe in the value of our work. They want to engage with us on a personal, human level and to understand the effects of what we do.  We need to engage them in our stories.

This pair of new workshops shines the light on how to use your stories to boost the effectiveness and reach of your organisation: leaving people in no doubt that you are doing great things.

These are vibrant and creative workshops: hands-on and brains on!

I used some of what I learned in a training today. The response was the staff’s rapt attention and an opportunity to influence practice.
I was only able to connect with them in the way I did because of what I learned.  What you do has real impact.

Monday 16 November Auckland

This workshop is designed for leaders and teams working to strengthen, renew or create brand distinction and power through story. The big narrative of why you do what you do and what makes your brand unique can be expressed authentically through many different narrative approaches. No need to resort to clichéd and corporate brand buzz and gobbledegook. (In fact, lets throw that sort thinking out right now!)

Learn a process to re-ignite your brand from the ground up using the power of the work you do every day; your history; your research and thinking; the stories of those who work and partner with you and of course, those you serve.

Storybranding means creating a brand that rings true to staff, clients and partners.

Moya will share the process with you so you can be an integral part of your branding work. You’ll leave this workshop with a process that drives affordable and meaningful brand expression across all media and internally: including website renewal and re-fresh, identity work and collateral.

Useful for leaders, marketing and communications and HR.

We recommend booking both workshops as a pair, thought they can be booked individually.

Writing Stories for Impact

Tuesday 17 November  Auckland

This is a hands on workshop that is useful for people who are already skilled communicators but would like to refresh their ideas and style. And also for those taking on more communication responsibilities who lack confidence in their writing ability and knowledge. Participants will be writing and learning throughout the day.

Old learned ideas of writing ‘appropriately’ means we put the lid on more natural and engaging writing styles. We miss out on the fun and engagement that comes with a more authentic, plain English and dynamic style.

This workshop is a one day immersion to learn how to write authentic stories for advocacy, reporting, connecting with donors, volunteers and communications. We will be working specifically on developing strategic storyskills as a different discipline to journalism.

Moya shares her step by step process with you: not just in writing but in identifying elements of stories that convert bystanders to partners. And keep everyone reading to the end. Writing for reports, newsletters, social media and books will be covered.

We recommend booking both workshops as a pair, thought they can be booked individually.
